Wine & Spirits Retail Manager

Wine & Spirits Tonite is an established independent wine and spirits shop looking for a dependable, personable person to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys people, wine, food, travel, history and culture and likes working in a small business where every day is a little different. You'll work directly with customers, learn about our wines and spirits, help keep the store running smoothly, and have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of our online business.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing things well, communicates clearly, and is comfortable taking initiative. Wine & spirits industry experience is welcome, but it's not required—we can teach you the product.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Helping customers find wines and spirits they'll enjoy
• Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Operating our point-of-sale system and completing sales accurately
• Receiving, stocking and tracking inventory
• Keeping the sales floor and stock areas organized and clean
• Learning about our wines and spirits, tasting them, and sharing their stories with customers
• Light social media and digital content work
• Preparing, packing and shipping online orders

As you become familiar with the business, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility and contribute your own ideas.

What we're looking for

You don't need to be a wine & spirits expert. We're most interested in someone who is curious, dependable and good with people.

You'll be a good fit if you have:

• Previous retail, hospitality or other customer-facing experience
• An interest in wine and spirits and a willingness to learn
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer and social media skills
• The ability to work independently and switch comfortably between customer service, physical tasks and digital projects
• The ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Comfort with an active retail environment, strong positive if you are willing/able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Legal eligibility to sell and handle alcoholic beverages in New York (ideally you are over 21)
• Authorization to work in the United States; employment-visa sponsorship is not available

Compensation: $22.00–$25.00 per hour
Hours: 25–40 hours per week, depending on availability (our preference is for 40 hours)
Schedule: Includes evenings, weekends and holidays
