Material Handler - Freight & Shipping | Henderson, NV

Nexeo Staffing is hiring an experienced Material Handler for a full-time, long-term opportunity in Henderson, Nevada. We are seeking candidates with experience in freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), OTR shipping, warehouse operations, or shipping and receiving. Direct international shipping experience is helpful but not required if you have strong transferable experience reviewing freight documents, operating material-handling equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position combines hands-on warehouse work with administrative responsibilities, including document verification, shipment inspection, and recordkeeping. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with both freight and shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers, containers, and freight safely and efficiently.
• Operate high-reach forklifts, sit-down electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Verify bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other freight documents.
• Review packing slips and shipping paperwork for international accuracy.
• Assist with commercial invoices, packing lists, and import/export documentation.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, shortages, and documentation errors.
• Package, label, secure, and prepare materials for domestic and international shipment.
• Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory and material movement.
• Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and record reconciliation.
• Maintain organized and accurate shipment, inventory, and document-control records.
• Follow applicable warehouse safety, DOT, OTR, and shipping requirements.
• Communicate shipment or inventory discrepancies to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

• Previous material handling, shipping and receiving, freight forwarding, 3PL, OTR, or warehouse logistics experience.
• Experience operating material-handling equipment, including a high-reach forklift.
• Familiarity with sit-down electric forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
• Experience using RF scanners and a WMS, SAP, or a similar inventory system.
• Experience reviewing bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, or related freight documents.
• Ability to inspect shipments for damage, accuracy, and proper documentation.
• Experience performing cycle counts or inventory audits.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Comfortable completing administrative tasks and document-control responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Must be able to meet applicable pre-employment background and drug-screening requirements.

Preferred Experience

• International shipping or import/export documentation.
• Commercial invoices and international packing lists.
• Freight forwarding or 3PL logistics.
• OTR or DOT compliance.
• Hazardous materials shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR, IMDG, or IATA regulations.

Pay

$19.00-$22.00 per hour

• $19.00/hour during the approximately 3-week training period.
• $22.00/hour once successfully assigned to the regular shift.

Schedule

Full Time | Wednesday-Saturday | 6:00 AM-5:00 PM
