L&A Tester – Board of Elections

Temporary Election Assignment

The Board of Elections is seeking Logic and Accuracy (L&A) Testers to assist with pre-election testing of voting equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring all voting systems and devices are functioning properly and accurately before being deployed for election use.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing on ballot scanners, ballot marking devices, and electronic pollbooks
• Follow established testing procedures to verify that voting equipment records and counts ballots accurately
• Assist with setting up and preparing election equipment for testing
• Run test ballots through voting machines to confirm proper vote tabulation and system accuracy
• Review and verify that ballot scanners and ballot marking devices respond correctly to different voting scenarios
• Document test results and report any irregularities or technical issues to election staff
• Assist with basic troubleshooting if equipment does not perform as expected during testing
• Ensure all testing procedures follow Board of Elections security protocols and chain-of-custody guidelines
• Maintain organized records of testing activities and equipment status

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step procedures
• Comfortable working with technical equipment and computer-based systems
• Ability to document information accurately and clearly
• Reliable and able to work in a structured, compliance-focused environment
• Prior experience in technical support, quality control, or equipment testing is helpful but not required
