About this job
Job Description
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (Downtown)
Experience: 3+ years
Our client, a leading full-service regional law firm, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its litigation practice — with the flexibility to pursue either a traditional partnership track or a reduced-hour staff attorney role. This opportunity is ideal for a litigator who wants to run cases hands-on, work directly with clients, and choose the career path that fits their goals.
What You'll Work On:
- Manage a litigation caseload from start to finish, including court appearances, depositions, and client communication
- Work closely with partners across all phases of litigation, from case reporting through trial preparation
- Take and defend depositions and handle motion practice and written discovery
- Navigate e-discovery platforms and workflows
- Communicate directly with clients and provide timely case updates
- Help build and strengthen client and referral relationships
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience, with strong skills in depositions, motion practice, and written discovery
- Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability and desire to engage directly with clients and develop business relationships
- Capability to independently manage a caseload from start to finish
- Familiarity with electronic discovery platforms
- Transcript(s) and writing sample required with resume submission
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Two paths, one role — choose a partnership track (1,900 billable hour requirement) or a reduced-hour staff attorney arrangement
- Multiple bonus opportunities: billings bonus based on collections, plus production and origination bonuses
- Direct client contact and meaningful litigation responsibility, not just support work
- Downtown Baton Rouge location
Benefits:
Competitive compensation set commensurate with graduation year and experience, with performance-based bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
If you're ready to take ownership of your cases — on the track that fits your life — we'd love to hear from you.
