Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level to senior Trade Secrets & Non-Compete Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a premier Employee Defection and Trade Secrets practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle sophisticated trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, including high-stakes disputes involving employee mobility and confidential information.

Position OverviewThe ideal candidate will have substantial experience litigating trade secret and restrictive covenant matters and be comfortable handling complex disputes from inception through resolution. Experience with emergency injunctive relief, expedited discovery, depositions, computer forensics, and e-discovery is highly valued.
ResponsibilitiesLitigate trade secret and restrictive covenant matters in state and federal courts.
Draft and argue motions for injunctive relief.
Prepare temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunction motions.
Draft complaints and other litigation pleadings.
Handle motions for expedited discovery.
Conduct and defend depositions.
Manage written discovery and e-discovery.
Work with computer forensics professionals on matters involving electronic evidence.
Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
Manage multiple sophisticated matters and competing deadlines.
Collaborate with attorneys and professionals across the practice.
3+ years of trade secret litigation experience.
Experience with restrictive covenant and non-compete litigation.
Experience handling motions for injunctive relief and expedited discovery.
Deposition and discovery experience required.
Substantial exposure to computer forensics and e-discovery issues preferred.
Experience drafting TROs, preliminary injunctions, and complaints in federal and state court.
Excellent academic credentials.
Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission to the California Bar required.
The salary range for this position is $210,000–$270,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
