Overview
A growing HVAC and mechanical equipment supplier is seeking an experienced Estimator II to support commercial construction projects by preparing accurate estimates, reviewing specifications, and partnering with sales engineers to develop competitive proposals.
This role is ideal for someone with solid HVAC estimating experience who enjoys balancing technical product knowledge with customer-focused project support.
The Role
The Estimator II independently manages project estimates while supporting outside sales with equipment selections, value engineering, and proposal development. This position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings and specifications to prepare complete project estimates.
- Analyze project requirements and recommend equipment selections.
- Support value engineering and alternative product solutions.
- Develop accurate pricing, quotations, and bid proposals.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors regarding pricing and technical information.
- Maintain project documentation, quotations, and customer records.
- Support project administration and order processing.
- Manage multiple bid opportunities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Provide technical support to internal sales teams throughout the bidding process.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or industrial training preferred.
- 3–5 years of estimating experience, preferably within HVAC or mechanical equipment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC products and mechanical construction concepts.
- Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Bluebeam, OST, or similar estimating software preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
