Schedule: Full-Time | Days | 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
8-week assignment with potential to extend and convert to permanent


We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Cook to join a Nutrition Services team in a healthcare setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled cook with hospital, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar healthcare experience who is looking for a stable role with potential for permanent employment.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Follow standardized recipes, menus, portion guidelines, and therapeutic diet requirements.
  • Organize daily food preparation and production to ensure meals are served on time.
  • Monitor food temperatures, quality, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized commercial kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Work closely with Nutrition Services, dietitians, dietary leadership, and clinical staff.
  • Assist with training and orienting new team members as needed.
  • Support department quality improvement initiatives and promote efficient use of food and kitchen resources.


What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of cooking experience in a healthcare environment such as a hospital, rehabilitation facility, skilled nursing facility, or similar setting.
  • ServSafe Certification – Required.
  • Experience preparing meals according to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Experience working with therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and maintain consistent quality and portion control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced institutional or healthcare kitchen.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to read, write, and speak English.
