Position Overview

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children ages 2–5. This role supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through play‐based learning, structured activities, and positive guidance. The teacher works closely with families and staff to ensure high‐quality early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lessons that support early literacy, math, science, and social‐emotional development
• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and creativity
• Supervise children closely to ensure safety during indoor and outdoor activities
• Use positive behavior guidance to help children develop self‐regulation, cooperation, and problem‐solving skills
• Prepare and organize materials for activities, centers, and projects
• Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on behavior, milestones, and classroom events
• Collaborate with staff to support program goals, special events, and classroom routines
• Follow licensing regulations and daycare policies, including health, safety, and sanitation procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with preschool‐aged children in a classroom or childcare setting
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and actively to engage with children to play

Work Environment

This position involves active participation in indoor and outdoor activities, interacting with children at their level, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom. Teachers may assist with meals, toileting routines, and transitions throughout the day.
