Manufacturing Quality Technician

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Technician to become an integral part of our team! We are a fast-paced contract manufacturer that specializes in precision machined products from a variety of metals and plastics. We service the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. The position involves the first article, in-process and final inspection of small to medium-sized precision metal and plastic parts within an AS9100 and ISO9001 environment.

Responsibilities:

*Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspection of precision CNC machined parts using hand tools: micrometer, caliper, height gages, bore gages, thread gages and surface plates.

*Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for complex dimensional verification-training provided for candidates without prior CMM experience.

*Use Optical comparators and vision system to inspect form, profile and surface features.

Interpret engineering drawing and GD&T callouts (ASME y14.5) to determine acceptance criteria.

*Inspect parts from all six department: Lathe, Swiss, Mill, Cubic, Davenport and Glenco

*Record and maintain accurate inspection data in the ERP system (Global Shop Solutions) and on inspection Travelers/reports.

*Generate and submit First Article Inspection (FAI) report per customer or AS9102

*Complete nonconformance reports (NCRs) for rejected parts - document disposition (use-as-is, rework, scrap) and route for Engineering / QE approval.

Proficiency in the use of the following equipment:

• Optical & Video Comparator
• Surface Plate and Height Gages
• Micrometers and Calipers
• Plug and Ring Thread Gages
• Pin gages
• Cert Review for Processing: Heat Treat, Anodizing, Plating, Passivate, etc.
• Basis Knowledge for AMS & MIL Std.
• Basic Calibration Methods

Shift Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 6am-4:30pm. Enjoy a three-day weekend every week!
