Our client, a leading electrical industrial manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated Production and Inventory Control Planner to join their team. As a Production and Inventory Control Planner, you will be an integral part of the Operations Department supporting production scheduling and inventory management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Production and Inventory Control Planner
Location: Elk River, MN
Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00/hour
Position Type: 1-Year Contract-to-Hire
Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:00AM - 3:30PM
What's the Job?
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and production activities across departments to ensure on-time customer delivery and efficient execution of the production schedule.
- Monitor production progress, identify and resolve constraints, and communicate updates on production status, inventory levels, costs, and potential issues.
- Create, distribute, and maintain shop orders, adjusting quantities and dates to meet customer requirements and support production flow.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of planning data within ERP/MRP systems, including routings, lead times, and order statuses.
- Lead daily production meetings with various stakeholders to review priorities, address issues, and ensure continuity of production operations.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least two years of experience in production planning or scheduling within an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of production planning methodologies, capacity planning, and machine shop scheduling.
- Experience with Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, MRP, and ERP systems; Oracle or similar ERP experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including developing and analyzing planning metrics.
