Position Overview
A growing aerospace organization is seeking an experienced Wire Harness Technician for its Clovis facility.
The Wire Harness Technician will build, repair, inspect, and document aircraft wiring harness assemblies. The successful candidate must be able to read aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, drawings, and technical specifications while following written and verbal instructions.
This position requires excellent hand dexterity, attention to detail, and the safe use of tools and shop equipment.
Responsibilities- Build wire harness assemblies using standard hand tools and approved techniques.
- Fabricate wires on harness boards according to applicable specifications.
- Perform continuous lacing, flat lacing, and spot tying of wire bundles and routings according to drawing requirements.
- Route, dress, and terminate conductors to specified dimensions.
- Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, wiring lists, diagrams, routing instructions, and process sheets.
- Perform preliminary inspections of wiring harnesses.
- Disassemble, clean, and conduct detailed inspections of wiring harnesses.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Properly use required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- Complete clear and accurate written documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous wire-harness, electrical-assembly, avionics, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds.
- Use fine motor skills and precision when handling small components.
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Sit at a workstation or counter for several hours.
- Pull, cut, route, and terminate wire for extended periods.
- Use various types of tape and tying materials when assembling wire bundles.
