Job Title: Senior Wire Harness Technician – Aerospace

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Type: 12-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $30-40.00 / hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Wire Harness Technician to support advanced space systems manufacturing in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will read complex engineering drawings, fabricate and test flight-ready harness assemblies, perform critical reworks, and assist engineering teams with development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret manufacturing assembly processes, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Fabricate, strip, crimp, solder, and assemble spaceflight cable and wire harnesses using specialized hand and power tools.
  • Perform flight harness testing, fabricate custom test fixtures, and maintain test adapters.
  • Track engineering changes (ECRs) and perform precise reworks on prototype and flight hardware.
  • Maintain required flight hardware certifications, including NASA Solder/Torque, Flight Harness, ESD, Contamination Control, and Hazardous Waste standards.
  • Support engineering teams on research and development (R&D) harness projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
  • Perform off-site or traveling harness support work as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required to comply with ITAR and federal export control regulations).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of related electrical, mechanical, or electronic assembly experience, including at least 2 years of dedicated aerospace wire harness fabrication.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Schedule & Physical: Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience inspecting assembly work under up to 10x microscope magnification.
  • Experience working with pre-released engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in an R&D environment.
  • Proficiency operating automated wire cutting/labeling machinery.
  • Familiarity with standard office software (MS Office).
