CMA - Pediatrics/Family Medicine | Days | Excellent Pay + Benefits

This permanent Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position at Newport Health Center in New London Hospital offers dedicated support to family medicine with a special focus on pediatrics. Working full-time during day hours, the role combines patient care and clinical support in a dynamic outpatient setting, providing excellent pay and a supportive work environment without weekend shifts.

Schedule: Days, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, 40 hrs/week

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Take and document vital signs
• Assist providers with exams and treatments
• Administer injections and perform basic diagnostic tests
• Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform blood draws
• Schedule appointments and procedures
• Handle patient phone calls and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
• Register new patients and maintain medical records
• Assist with insurance forms and billing tasks
• Maintain examination rooms and sterilize clinical equipment following infection-control protocols
• Provide dedicated support for pediatric patients

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• One credential from the following: CMA – AAMA, RMA – AMT, or CCMA plus 12-month Dartmouth-Hitchcock apprenticeship
• Pediatric experience clearly listed on resume
• AHA BLS certification

Pay

• $21.19–$32.85/hour
