Medical Technologist - Clinical Laboratory

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join a clinical laboratory team in Richlands, VA. This role is responsible for performing laboratory testing, processing specimens, maintaining quality standards, and supporting accurate and timely patient results in an acute-care healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and STAT laboratory testing according to established procedures.
• Collect, process, verify, and properly identify patient specimens.
• Perform testing and result verification while maintaining accuracy and specimen integrity.
• Support testing involving timed specimens, drug levels, critical/panic values, and STAT results as required.
• Perform daily Quality Control (QC) procedures and follow laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, phlebotomists, and other healthcare staff regarding laboratory results and patient needs.
• Process and properly store or arrange transportation of specimens for delayed or referral testing.
• Assist with laboratory documentation, reporting, and other departmental duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Medical Laboratory Science required
• Minimum 1 year of acute-care laboratory experience required
• 2+ years of acute-care laboratory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory testing and specimen processing
• Experience with quality control, result verification, and troubleshooting
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
