Location: Angleton, TX 77515

Job Type: Full-Time (Temp-to-Hire)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:15 AM – 2:30 PM (with rotating weekends)

Pay & Benefits: $18 hr / Full-time hours, 

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Scale Attendant / Customer Support Representative to join our team at our landfill site in Angleton, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for checking trucks in and out, accurately processing incoming and outgoing vehicles, recording weights, handling customer transactions, and maintaining precise documentation.

This position serves as an essential point of contact for drivers, customers, and site personnel while ensuring scale house operations run efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scale House Operations: Operate scale house equipment to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles.

  • Data Entry & Processing: Enter customer, vehicle, material, and weight information into the computer system. Prepare and verify tickets, manifests, receipts, and required documentation.

  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to drivers and visitors; answer phone inquiries and direct customers appropriately.

  • Compliance & Safety: Identify weight, billing, or documentation discrepancies. Report unacceptable or hazardous materials following company and environmental safety guidelines.

  • Site Communication: Coordinate with landfill operations personnel regarding incoming loads and special delivery circumstances.

  • General Administration: Process payments, maintain transaction records, keep files organized, and maintain a clean, organized scale house environment.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a scale house, landfill/waste industry, customer service, data entry, or cash handling is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient with computers, email, and Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn proprietary scale and billing software.

  • Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, excellent verbal/written communication, and solid multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Work Environment Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team while operating in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments around heavy equipment.
