Insight Global is seeking an HSE Manager / Compliance Specialist for a top manufacturing client. This individual will be responsible for leading all health, safety, and environmental initiatives at a production facility while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will partner closely with plant leadership to foster a proactive safety culture, support employee engagement, oversee environmental compliance programs, and drive continuous improvement efforts. This person will lead incident investigations, manage regulatory audits, deliver safety training, maintain critical compliance documentation, and enhance emergency preparedness programs. Successful candidates will bring strong manufacturing HSE experience, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for creating a safe and compliant workplace.
Day-to-Day:
- Lead all HSE programs, policies, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and agency inquiries
- Drive proactive safety culture and employee engagement programs
- Coach supervisors and frontline leaders on safety ownership and accountability
- Facilitate safety committees and behavior-based safety initiatives
- Conduct hazard assessments and implement risk reduction strategies
- Develop and deliver safety and environmental training programs
- Support onboarding and new hire safety requirements
- Lead investigations of injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents
- Analyze safety trends and implement corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA logs, environmental reports, and compliance documentation
- Manage waste handling, storage, labeling, and vendor compliance
- Conduct internal compliance audits
- Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills
- Ensure emergency equipment and safety systems are properly maintained
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements
- Experience managing compliance programs, audits, and regulatory inspections
- Experience leading safety initiatives and driving safety culture improvements
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
- Safety training development and delivery experience
- Environmental compliance and reporting experience
- Ability to work cross-functionally with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees
Plusses:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs
- Emergency response planning and drill coordination experience
- Waste management and hazardous materials compliance experience
- Experience in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment
