Litigation Practice Assistant

Compensation: $33 - $40 per hour
Location: Irvine Spectrum Area, Irvine, CA
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Work Arrangement: Fully On-Site

LHH is partnering with a law firm in Irvine to recruit a Litigation Practice Assistant. This position supports attorneys and litigation staff throughout all phases of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • File documents electronically in California state and federal courts.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, mediations, court appearances, and client meetings.
  • Coordinate court filings, service of process, and document production.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
  • Assist with discovery, trial preparation, exhibit management, and document review.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and legal staff.
  • Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and litigation teams.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation legal assistant, practice assistant, or related legal support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of California state court filing procedures; federal court filing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.
