Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 17-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage a diverse patient population including diagnoses such as diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, and patients with wounds, drains, and tubes
• Receive and assess patients from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, and nursing facilities
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Participate in every other weekend and every other holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• BSN preferred
• Experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
