Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts (Days: 7a–7p / Nights: 7p–7a) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Post-Op/Oncology/Telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Care for general MedSurg and post-operative patients (e.g., laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy) as well as oncology patients presenting with complications such as neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections
• Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, including experience with PleurX chest tubes for patients discharged home
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently using Phillips monitors (central monitor tech available hospital-wide)
• Titrate Heparin drips as needed; manage occasional psychiatric patients who may require 1:1 observation with a sitter
• Wear royal blue scrubs per unit dress code; no artificial/false nails permitted

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license valid in West Virginia
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
• Experience with MedSurg and/or Telemetry patient populations
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required with all submissions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is a strong plus
• Experience with PleurX chest tubes and/or chest tube management
• Oncology nursing background or experience caring for patients on neutropenic precautions
• Comfort with occasional psychiatric patient assignments requiring 1:1 sitter support
