Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36–48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU patients in a mixed cardiac and medical critical care setting
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Demonstrated experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP)
• Demonstrated experience with Impella devices
• Demonstrated experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgeries and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of one year of experience in a critical care setting, with exposure to patient populations including DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Experience in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment
