Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0645–1915 / 1845–0715) | Block Scheduling Available | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to obstetric and postpartum patients across a 15-bed LDRP unit (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum) with approximately 58 births per month
  • Titrate drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium; adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines (1:1 for pit/mag/insulin drips; 1:3 couplet care)
  • Independently read and interpret fetal monitor strips using the Traceview/PIP EFM system and Philips telemetry monitors
  • Manage common diagnoses including hypertension, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and obstetric/neonatal care; facility generally avoids delivering patients under 36 weeks gestation
  • Float to Med/Surg and Emergency Department as needed based on staffing (permanent staff are typically first to float)
  • Document and manage patient care using the Meditech EMR system; follow quality metrics and collaborate with CNAs and charge nurses on each shift
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in North Dakota or a compact state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to independently read and interpret fetal monitor strips
  • Experience titrating drips (pitocin, insulin, magnesium)
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates may not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health, within the past 12 months
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • ACLS, NRP, and/or STABLE certification preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Traceview/PIP EFM systems
  • Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills in a fast-paced obstetric environment
