Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a regional float pool covering multiple acute care facilities within a 60-mile zone, including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Ortho, Renal, and ED Observation units
• Adapt to Just-In-Time (JIT) scheduling, with facility assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start when applicable
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:5–6 based on acuity, caring for adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, post-surgical, and general medicine conditions
• Titrate Heparin drips and operate respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
• Float across acuity levels as needed, including PCU/Stepdown and ICU (low-acuity holds within skillset)
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as requested

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
• Must live at least 60 miles from each facility within the assigned zone to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neuro nursing setting strongly preferred
• Experience floating across multiple units or facilities in a travel or float pool capacity
• Comfort working with diverse patient populations including cardiac, oncology, bariatric, trauma, and psych/detox patients
