Travel RN – Heart & Vascular Recovery (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend as required by staffing needs | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for pre- and post-procedural cardiac patients, including cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and vascular patients
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary and interdisciplinary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
• Operate general monitoring equipment and EKG within an 8-bed unit; float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Flu vaccination (or approved exemption) is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown or ICU cardiac experience
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and identification of cardiac emergencies
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, pre/post cardiac care, or cardiac step-down
• Experience with TR bands and pulling sheaths
• Background caring for STEMI post-care and post-interventional cardiac patients
• Compassionate, detail-oriented team player with strong assessment skills and a reliable work ethic
