Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Onsite | 4 x 9-hour shifts; occasional extended hours for emergent cases

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Cardiac Cath Lab environment, supporting 4–20 cases per day across 6 suites at a 1:1 ratio
• Care for patients presenting with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital conditions, TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; titrate drips as needed
• Serve as circulator for emergent cases, including during on-call shifts
• Collaborate with a multi-person care team consisting of RNs and Radiologic Technologists (RTRs); regular cases are staffed with 1 RN and 2 RTRs
• Participate in weeknight, weekend, and holiday call rotations, including primary and backup call coverage (approximately 6–8 call shifts per month)

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience titrating drips in a clinical setting
• Must comply with a Drug-Free Campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Cardiac Cath Lab experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and GE or Philips monitoring equipment
• Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) is a plus
