About the Role
Stocks General Contractors is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to support and oversee safety across our underground utility and civil construction projects.
This role is critical to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working closely with field teams to enforce safety standards and reduce risk across job sites.
What You’ll Do
● Monitor job site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
● Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site evaluations
● Lead safety meetings and provide training to field employees
● Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
● Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
● Identify risks and implement corrective actions
● Support field leadership in maintaining safe work environments
● Promote a culture of safety accountability across all teams
What We’re Looking For
Preferred
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Certifications Required
● OSHA 30-Hour Certification
● Relevant safety certification
Physical Requirements
● Ability to walk job sites and conduct field inspections
● Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
● Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
Schedule & Pay
● Full-Time | Salary
● Monday–Friday (project-based hours; flexibility required)

Experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or underground utility work- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams and management
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to identify risks and implement practical safety solutions
- Experience working on active construction job sites
- Familiarity with trenching, excavation, and confined space safety
Preferred
