Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Description
This position is for an imaging professional and requires an active x-ray license. Experience in either interventional radiology or cath lab is essential.
LocationCity: Carbondale, IL
Position Details- Quantity Needed: 1
- Type of Resource Requested: Interventional Radiology Technologist or X-ray Technician with interventional radiology experience
- Length of Contract: 13 weeks, with an ongoing need
- On-call Availability: Yes (up to 10 days per month when fully staffed; currently 2 days per week)
- Hours Per Shift: Open to 8 or 10 hours
- Shift Start Time: Varies between 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM depending on the day of the week and shift length
- No weekend requirements currently, with the potential for Saturday or Sunday call in the future
- Utilization of EPIC for documentation and preparation for the installation of a new Siemens IR suite
- An active Illinois license from IEMA and ARRT certified radiologic technologist required
- Interventional radiology certification is not mandatory; however, candidates must have interventional radiology or cath lab experience
- General x-ray duties may be performed if there are no interventional radiology procedures
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams
- Utilize PACS and EMR systems
- Execute interventional procedures per protocols and established procedures
- Maintain appropriate IV and contrast competency
- Follow established protocols and procedures for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection
- Perform office duties as required
- Communicate effectively with all involved in the patient care process
- Clean and inspect departmental equipment regularly
- Stock imaging rooms as necessary
- Associate degree required
- ARRT Certification in Radiology
- IEMA License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience in the field
