Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations in a busy pipe skid manufacturing facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing production activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, manufacturing experience, and the ability to manage shop personnel, production schedules, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all daily production operations within the pipe skid manufacturing shop
Supervise shop personnel, including welders, fitters, equipment operators, and support staff
Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer deadlines
Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity
Monitor workflow and production performance to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
Work closely with engineering, project management, purchasing, logistics, and quality teams
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Conduct production meetings and communicate priorities to shop personnel
Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, delays, and operational challenges
Track labor hours, production metrics, and project progress
Review fabrication drawings, work orders, and production requirements
Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance management
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Assist with budgeting, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or fabrication management experience preferred
Experience in pipe skid fabrication, modular construction, structural steel, pressure vessels, or related industries strongly preferred
Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, fitting, assembly, and production planning
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing large fabrication or manufacturing teams
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Experience with ERP, MRP, or production management software
Welding, fabrication, or quality control certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing and shop environment
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
Ability to work around heavy equipment, welding operations, and fabrication activities
Ability to work overtime as required to meet production demands
Compensation & Benefits
$50.00 per hour
Overtime eligible
Full-time schedule, 6 days per week
