The Program Engineer III is responsible for supporting the design, development, validation, and launch of automotive mirror systems and related components. This position coordinates closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product requirements, quality expectations, timing, and cost targets are successfully achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Support product design, development, and release of automotive mirror systems and components.

  • Interpret customer requirements and translate them into technical and program deliverables.

  • Coordinate design reviews, engineering changes, and product development activities with internal teams and customers.

  • Lead or support DFMEA/PFMEA, design reviews, and validation activities.

  • Review DV/PV/E-test results and provide technical direction for issue resolution.

  • Support sourcing activities, supplier communication, tooling coordination, and component development.

  • Monitor project timing, milestones, cost, quality, and overall program performance.

  • Lead technical problem-solving and corrective-action activities throughout development and launch.

  • Maintain effective communication with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • 4–6 years of Program Engineering experience in the automotive industry.

  • Experience with automotive mirror systems, plastic components, or related exterior components preferred.

  • Experience working with automotive OEM customers and suppliers preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of automotive product development and manufacturing processes.

  • Understanding of GD&T, DFMEA/PFMEA, DV/PV testing, engineering drawings, and design reviews.

  • Knowledge of plastic components, tooling, and manufacturing processes is highly preferred.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively coordinate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering/program management tools.
