Testing Technician – Temporary

Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL

Pay: $17/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, noon-8 p.m.

Assignment: Approximately 4 months

About the Role

Ad-Vance Talent Solutions is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Testing Technician to support the Assessment/Testing Center at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. This position works directly with students while administering exams, maintaining testing records and supporting daily Testing Center operations.

What You'll Do

• Schedule, check in and assist students with testing appointments.
• Administer and monitor placement tests, academic exams and other assessments.
• Explain testing procedures and next steps to students.
• Maintain test security, confidentiality and accurate records.
• Manage testing appointments and online calendars.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, email, databases and testing software.
• Answer questions and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and the public.
• Assist with routine testing and computer-related issues.
• Follow established testing policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of related clerical or administrative experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email and computer systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand and explain detailed instructions.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to reliably work Monday-Friday from noon-8 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college, school or testing center experience.
• Experience administering or proctoring exams.
• Experience with testing or scheduling software.
• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
• Basic computer troubleshooting skills.
