Maintenance Technician
New Albany, IN | Direct Hire | $29–$35/hr, DOE + .75 Shift Differential
Shift: 3rd Shift, Sunday–Tuesday OR Wednesday-Friday, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM (after a 2-month training period on days, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
About the Role
BESTAFF is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a growing manufacturing partner in New Albany, IN. You'll keep critical production machinery — including dies and molds — running strong through hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and tooling support. After a two-month day-shift training period, you'll move to 3rd shift, where your pay jumps with a .75x shift differential on top of your base rate. Add in amazing benefits and a guaranteed annual bonus, and this is a role built to reward the technician who takes pride in keeping the floor moving. PLC experience is a big plus.
What You'll Do
- Set up, maintain, test, adjust, and support manufacturing machinery and processes, including dies and molds.
- Perform preventative maintenance to catch problems before they cause downtime.
- Troubleshoot a wide range of tooling and production equipment.
- Coordinate PM tasks with production to minimize downtime while helping the team hit a 90%+ on-time delivery goal.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering team on equipment projects and upgrades.
- Perform light machining and basic electrical controls repairs as needed.
- Assemble, debug, troubleshoot, and maintain tooling.
- Order and maintain tooling and replacement parts to keep production running.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience as a maintenance or equipment technician.
- Ability to read product blueprints.
- Electrical experience with proximity sensors, servo motors, production cameras, and PLC programming/troubleshooting — a big plus.
- Background in basic machinist skills, die mechanics, bench work, and soldering — a plus.
- Comfort with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A 2- or 4-year Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering/Technical degree is preferred, and a Tool & Die or Electrical Journeyman certification is a plus — relevant experience can supplement or replace formal education.
