Location: Garland, TX 75040
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-10:00 PM availability required
Weekend Requirement: Two Saturdays per month, half-day shifts
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair facility equipment, building systems, and grounds. This position will perform general maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, equipment repair, and facility upkeep.The ideal candidate has strong hands-on maintenance experience and is comfortable working in a manufacturing or production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building and grounds maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and complete minor electrical repairs, including lighting, ballasts, and 110V-220V lines.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, including leaks, clogged lines, PVC piping, and copper pipe brazing.
- Troubleshoot HVAC-related issues.
- Repair and maintain air compressors, vacuum lines, nitrogen lines, pumps, and related equipment.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, ceiling tile, and flooring repairs.
- Inspect the facility and equipment to identify needed repairs.
- Assist manufacturing and engineering teams with equipment and facility improvements.
- Read and understand blueprints, drawings, maintenance instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Handle chemicals, recyclable materials, and hazardous waste in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
- Research replacement parts, materials, and equipment online.
- Assist with required City, State, and Federal regulatory documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing, assembly, or production environment experience preferred.
- Basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance knowledge.
- Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research.
- Must be able to read and follow maintenance instructions and technical drawings.
- Must be able to work overtime and at least two half-day Saturdays per month as needed.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and work in clean-room environments.
- Must be able to routinely lift 50-80 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a respirator physical and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Must be willing to travel locally to vendors or distributors to pick up parts and supplies.
- Must meet attendance and safety requirements.
