Classroom Assistant | Santee, California

Make a meaningful impact as a full-time paraprofessional supporting students with visual impairments. You'll be working closely with a visually impaired caseload in a supportive school environment.

Work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with hours from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM and a 30-minute lunch break. Your expertise and dedication will play a vital role in empowering students to achieve their full potential.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Prior experience working with visually impaired students or patients is essential
• Ability to provide individualized support and adapt to diverse learning needs
• Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach
• Collaborative spirit and eagerness to partner with teachers, specialists, and families
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or coursework a plus

Responsibilities:

• Assist visually impaired students throughout the school day, providing academic and functional support as directed
• Adapt classroom materials and help with instruction to meet accessibility needs
• Promote independent skills, mobility, and self-advocacy for students
• Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families to ensure seamless support
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
