Job Description
Bring your passion for supporting students to a dynamic, flexible contract opportunity in the Greater Kansas City area. This per diem paraprofessional position allows you to make a direct impact by assisting in K-12 classrooms, with a focus on special education and behavior support, across several schools. As part of a team dedicated to student growth, you’ll help deliver critical support for students with behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), and provide both 1:1 and classroom aide support. Schedules are adapted to each assignment, and you’ll enjoy the ability to pick up shifts that fit your availability through a user-friendly mobile app.
Key Qualifications:
- Active substitute certification on the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) system (must be active before your first day; those in process are welcome to apply)
- Experience working in schools, particularly with students with behavioral needs or in special education settings
- Willingness to undergo district-specific fingerprinting
- Ability to support students with daily needs, which may include toileting
- Reliable, adaptable, and responsive to daily assignment opportunities
- Comfort with digital tools—shifts are picked up via an app
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive assistance in SPED classrooms and to students with behavioral needs
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed
- Assist with both individual and group student needs, including academic and personal support
- Follow daily assignments in various school settings, primarily elementary
- Quickly adapt to each school’s routines and requirements
