1:1 Classroom Assistant | Lyndonville, New York

In this assignment, you’ll work one-on-one with a student diagnosed with Autism and behavioral needs, fostering academic and social development in alignment with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a school paraprofessional, especially in a 1:1 capacity
• Familiarity with supporting students on the Autism spectrum
• Understanding of behavioral intervention techniques
• Knowledge of IEP process and implementation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 assistance to a student throughout the school day
• Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in the student’s IEP
• Support classroom activities and adapt materials when necessary
• Assist the student in developing social and behavioral skills
• Monitor progress and report on student behavior and achievement
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning atmosphere
• Partner with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and continuity of care
