As an ASL Facilitator working across both Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas, you’ll play an essential part in helping young learners thrive, collaborating closely with a virtual physical therapist to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience. This highly collaborative, contract-based opportunity focuses on empowering students with a range of communication needs from early childhood to young adulthood.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, Sign Language Interpreter, or ASL Teacher preferred
• Comfort working with students of diverse ages, from 18 months to 22 years
• Ability to facilitate communication between students and a virtual service provider
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication and sessions between students and a virtual physical therapist, using ASL as needed
• Support ongoing learning, therapy, and classroom activities
• Adapt communication to suit student age and ability levels
• Maintain clear records and feedback for school staff and therapists
• Ensure a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for all students

Details:

• Contract position, August 3 - June 5
• Albuquerque location: 1-2 days per week, 1 site, approx. 15 students ages 18 months to 6 years
• Santa Fe location: 1-2 days per week, 1 site, approx. 10-15 students ages 18 months to 22 years
