Instructional Assistant - New Lenox, IL

Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting students with diverse and unique needs in a self-contained program. This contract opportunity is located near New Lenox, IL, with two openings available as backfills for the upcoming school year.

As a valued member of the educational team, you'll work hands-on with students who have significant needs, including Autism and medically complex conditions, providing compassionate support, guidance, and encouragement. The role involves assisting with behavior support and facilitating daily routines including toileting and activities tailored to each student's abilities. The workday is 7.25 hours, featuring a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and spans the full school year from August 24th through June 3rd.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a classroom support role, especially with students with Autism or complex medical conditions
• Ability to assist with daily living skills, including toileting and behavior management
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
• Patience, empathy, and dedication to making a difference
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving student needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students' educational, social, and emotional development in a self-contained environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individualized plans
