Your expertise as a Paraprofessional will be vital in bridging communication and learning gaps, ensuring that the student receives the individualized support needed to thrive academically and socially. Your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) will be invaluable, and no EIPA certification is required for this position.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience supporting students in educational settings, particularly elementary-aged children
• Ability to collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working one-on-one with students
• Strong communication skills and a supportive approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct ASL interpretation and support to the assigned student throughout the school day
• Assist the student with classroom activities, comprehension, and engagement using ASL
• Adapt educational materials and instructions as needed to support student understanding
• Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere
• Communicate regularly with instructional staff to report on progress and identify areas of need
• Help promote the student’s independence, social interaction, and full participation in classroom activities
