Job Description
HNW Tax Senior
Our private client practice is growing, and this seat puts you at the center of sophisticated, multi-entity wealth engagements - with real ownership of client relationships and a clear path to Manager. If you've spent five or more years in public accounting solving complex tax puzzles for wealthy families, this is where we will fully use your technical depth.

What you'll do
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and international returns for HNW/UHNW individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and S-corporations
  • Build and execute proactive tax planning strategies - gift and estate planning, wealth transfer, charitable structures, and family office arrangements
  • Own client engagements end-to-end: manage timelines, coordinate with wealth advisors and legal counsel, and serve as a trusted day-to-day contact
  • Research and resolve complex technical issues including multi-state residency, foreign investments, FATCA/FBAR, and partnership allocations
  • Mentor and review the work of staff and seniors, providing structured feedback that accelerates their development
  • Support tax controversy, audits, and examinations, including drafting responses and settlement strategies for taxing authorities
  • Champion process improvements and tax-technology adoption to increase team efficiency and client value

What we need
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience with a private client or HNW tax focus
  • CPA license or active candidate with a firm completion timeline
  • Strong technical foundation in individual, fiduciary, partnership, and estate & gift taxation, including multi-state and international issues
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing client engagements
  • Clear, confident communication skills - you can translate complex tax positions for sophisticated clients and their advisors

Nice to have
  • Master's in Taxation or LL.M. in Taxation
  • Experience with family office structures and closely held business planning
  • Familiarity with tax research platforms and workflow management systems
  • Exposure to cross-border planning and foreign asset reporting

Pay & benefits
  • Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 per year

Location & schedule
  • Naperville, Illinois
