Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide, particularly working with students with visual impairments or special needs
• Familiarity with Braille or a strong willingness to learn Braille instructional methods
• Patience, compassion, and a strong commitment to student success
• Ability to collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and school staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliable and professional with a strong attendance record

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized, 1:1 assistance to an 11th-grade student during school hours
• Support the student’s progress in Braille literacy and reinforce learning materials
• Help facilitate the student’s participation in classroom activities and encourage independence
• Document progress and maintain open communication with teachers and staff
• Adapt teaching strategies per the student’s learning needs and progress
