Instructional Assistant - Blue Springs, Missouri

Key Qualifications:

• Active Missouri substitute certificate required (or must be active before start date)
• Previous experience in school settings, specifically with students exhibiting behavioral needs and familiarity with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Comfortable providing supportive care, including toileting, when necessary
• Fingerprint clearance for North Kansas City required (specific district code will be provided)
• Confidence working 1:1 and as a classroom aide, across a range of grade levels – mostly elementary
• Must be able to work responsively within a per diem framework, using an app-based scheduling system

Core Responsibilities:

• Fill in for contracted staff during daily call-outs across 33 district schools
• Assist teachers with classroom management, individualized instruction, and implementing behavior support strategies
• Build rapport and provide hands-on support for students with special needs
• Engage in both 1:1 assignments and general classroom roles as determined by each shift
• Maintain professionalism and adaptability while working in varied school environments
