Take on a contract role for the 2026-2027 school year, offering expert care and guidance while collaborating with dedicated educational professionals. With a 7.25-hour workday (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), you'll play a vital part in nurturing the academic and personal growth of exceptional students.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, especially with special education populations
- Comfortable providing hands-on support, including toileting and addressing behavioral or medical needs
- Ability to implement strategies and accommodations outlined by classroom teachers and specialists
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Collaborative spirit and flexibility to adapt to classroom dynamics
- Willingness to participate actively from late August through early June
- Open to feedback and engaged in ongoing professional development
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support for students within a self-contained program
- Assist with behavior management and implement intervention plans as directed
- Help with personal care tasks, including toileting and mobility needs
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate clearly with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Track student progress and report observations to the educational team
- Support classroom activities, transitions, and routines consistently
