Instructional Aide in Pecos, NM

Exciting opportunities await for skilled professionals proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) to support students and therapists across two school sites in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque areas. As an ASL Facilitator, you will play a vital role in bridging communication, empowering students of varying ages, and facilitating effective virtual physical therapy sessions. This part-time, contract position offers variety, meaningful impact, and professional growth.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language, with experience as a paraprofessional, sign language interpreter, or ASL teacher
• Ability to facilitate communication between students, staff, and a virtual physical therapist
• Proven experience in educational settings supporting children and young adults with diverse needs
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work at either Santa Fe or Albuquerque locations as needed

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication during virtual physical therapy sessions, ensuring clarity and accessibility for students and therapists
• Support students aged 18 months to 6 years in Albuquerque, or 18 months to 22 years in Santa Fe
• Collaborate with educators and service providers to create an inclusive, supportive environment
• Adjust support strategies for students’ developmental stages and learning preferences
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school protocols

Assignment Details:

• Albuquerque: 1 school site, 1–2 days per week supporting 15 students (ages 18 months–6 years)
• Santa Fe: 1 school site, 1–2 days per week supporting 10–15 students (ages 18 months–22 years)
• August 3 – June 5
