Instructional Assistant - Delhi, New York

This contract position is ideal for caring, responsible individuals who thrive working with children and enjoy an active role helping students arrive at school and home safely. There are several openings, offering the ability to work part-time mornings and afternoons—without midday commitments.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, bus aide, or similar student support role preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for connecting with students and drivers
• Compassion, reliability, and a keen sense of responsibility
• Ability to maintain patience and composure in a variety of situations
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet standard school requirements

Role Responsibilities:

• Board the bus at the bus yard each morning and afternoon, assisting with pickups and drop-offs along established routes
• Help students safely enter and exit the bus, with special attention to those with unique needs
• Promote a respectful, positive atmosphere on the bus
• Communicate any concerns or incidents with appropriate school staff or supervisors
• Support the bus driver in maintaining order and following all safety protocols
• Ensure students' well-being during transit and at changeover points
• Work approximately six hours per day, split between the morning and afternoon routes, with no midday hours required
