Job Description
Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting PreK and Kindergarten students. This contract opportunity is ideal for an educator with a strong foundation in special education procedures, IEP development, and early childhood instructional strategies. The position is part-time, with a consistent schedule of 4 hours a day, 4 days each week, based onsite at a supportive campus in the Homer, LA area.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana SPED Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate (required)
- Deep familiarity with PreK/Kindergarten curriculum and instructional methods
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs for young learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and document progress according to established procedures
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum materials
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with parents and caregivers
- Ensure compliance with state and district special education requirements
- Support smooth transitions for students both into and out of early intervention services
