About this job
Job Description
Discover a meaningful opportunity to make an impact in special education. This contract position supports the district’s Evaluation Team in Champlin, MN, where the Education Service Center serves as your home base as you travel between schools within Champlin. You’ll collaborate closely with special education professionals, offering vital assistance throughout the evaluation process rather than providing direct student instruction.
In this unique role, you’ll be tasked with organizing and maintaining student files, managing testing protocols, conducting student observations and write-ups, as well as handling file transfers back to schools. It’s essential to be self-motivated, efficient, and comfortable balancing a fast-paced, demanding workload.
Candidates must be highly qualified before presentation. Accepted documentation includes passing the MN Paraprofessional Exam or providing at least 60 college credits with official transcripts. (Photos of diplomas or degrees alone are not accepted.) Please be sure to submit both your resume and the proper qualification documentation to be considered.
What you bring:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in special education settings preferred
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities efficiently
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards
- Highly qualified status: Either a passing score on the MN Paraprofessional Exam OR at least 60 college credits (official transcript required)
What you’ll do:
- Support the evaluation team with assessments and administrative tasks
- Organize, purge, and maintain student special education files
- Complete student observations and contribute detailed write-ups
- Transfer and track documentation within district schools
Pay for this role is set at $20 per hour.
