Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Uniontown Nursing and Rehab in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in our Skilled Nursing department, providing exceptional rehabilitation services to our residents. With a focus on "neighbors helping neighbors," our therapy department is dedicated to delivering personalized care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents achieve their goals
Conduct thorough assessments to identify residents' strengths, weaknesses, and needs
Develop and implement creative and effective interventions to promote independent living, mobility, and functional abilities
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication
Document resident progress and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly
Participate in staff meetings and in-service education to stay current with best practices and industry developments
Requirements:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing setting
Current certification as a COTA in the state of Pennsylvania
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or a related field preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
Ability to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 100 pounds, and stand for extended periods
