Electrician III

Role Overview

The Electrician III is a highly skilled electrical professional responsible for performing advanced installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning activities in support of ASC's power integration products. This role serves as a technical leader within the electrical department, providing expertise on complex electrical systems while supporting project execution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive electrical experience, strong diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to independently execute complex assignments while mentoring less experienced team members. Success in this role will be measured through quality, productivity, technical leadership, safety performance, and the successful completion of electrical projects and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in manufacturing and production environments.
• Lead complex electrical installations, system modifications, and repair projects with minimal supervision.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, customer specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate installation and system functionality.
• Plan, organize, and lay out electrical work to maximize efficiency, improve serviceability, and support long-term maintenance requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced electrical issues involving power distribution, control systems, wiring, electrical components, and integrated equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities for completed electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform electrical testing using meters, test instruments, and diagnostic equipment to verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
• Serve as a technical resource for electricians, production personnel, engineering teams, and department leadership.
• Analyze and resolve issues that impact production schedules, product quality, equipment performance, and customer requirements.
• Mentor and support Electrical Support Technicians, Electrician I, and Electrician II team members through training, coaching, and hands-on technical guidance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of electrical installation standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Complete required documentation, testing records, inspection reports, and project-related paperwork accurately and on time.
• Support occasional travel to customer sites, field installations, commissioning activities, and service-related projects when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Promote and reinforce compliance with OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication (Haz-Com), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space requirements, and all company safety policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical quality, productivity, safety, reliability, and standardization.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational electrical training, apprenticeship completion, or equivalent technical education preferred.
• Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician certification through DPOR preferred.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of electrical experience in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, power generation, or related environments preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and system layout practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions on complex electrical assignments.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing both low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment and diagnostic procedures.
• Experience with power distribution systems, generators, switchgear, control panels, motor controls, and related electrical equipment preferred.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to mentor, train, and support developing electricians.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency with electrical documentation, work orders, and related production records.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work in both manufacturing and field environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout an 8+ hour work shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and work in confined spaces when required.
• Ability to safely work around low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems while following established safety procedures.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.
• Ability to support overtime, flexible schedules, and occasional travel as required to meet project and operational needs.
