Position Summary:
The Class A Local CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods between designated locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent delivery schedules while providing excellent service.
The Class A Local CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods between designated locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent delivery schedules while providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class A CDL vehicle (automatic day cab).
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance.
- Transport loads between New Castle, DE, Middletown, NY, and Essex, MD as assigned.
- Ensure proper loading, transport, and unloading of freight.
- Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers.
- Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Uphold professionalism and strong customer service standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum of 3 years of Class A driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in routes or schedules.
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

PPE Requirements:
- Steel-toe boots required.
- Safety vest and additional PPE provided by BWT must be worn as required.
Compensation:
$22.00 – $24.00 per hour.
