Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house therapy team! The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing setting, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery. This role involves evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing skilled occupational therapy interventions to help patients achieve their functional and independence goals. Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients’ functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, and other areas impacting independence.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs, goals, and functional limitations.

  • Provide therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve patients’ independence, safety, strength, coordination, balance, and overall function.

  • Monitor and document patients’ progress, responses to treatment, and outcomes.

  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, energy conservation, safety strategies, and home programs.

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, functional mobility, transfers, and other therapeutic activities as appropriate.

  • Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote independence and safety.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive patient care and effective discharge planning.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

  • Follow established safety protocols and infection control procedures.

  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in occupational therapy and rehabilitation.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or entry-level doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, therapeutic activities, functional rehabilitation, and patient-centered care.

  • Experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with geriatric populations is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing quality care.
