Overview
Talin Home Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients across various settings, including pediatrics, outpatient services, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in developing and implementing care plans that enhance patients' functional abilities and improve their quality of life.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to patients focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence.
- Conduct assessments and document patient progress in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment goals and strategies for home exercises.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience or familiarity with home healthcare, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities, or acute care settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to therapeutic practices.
- Ability to implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing quality patient-centered care.
